This was a collaborative project by four designers focused on place-marking for art deco architecture in Akron. The project included outdoor markers and interior plaques for 5 buildings in addition to informational pamphlets at each location. The exterior markers include information about the building’s construction and history, while the interior plaques discuss how the building has been used and changed over the years. The pamphlets have a brief explanation of art deco as well as QR codes that open directions to each location.
